Our U13 girlsĀ beat Ansty in a hardball pairs league match on Sunday evening. Bowling first BHCC restricted Ansty to 248 for 5, wickets for Katie Read (2), Hannah Johanson (2) and Louise McLaren. In reply we made 259 for 3, Katie Read, Amelie Palmer-Brown and Lily Freeman all chipping in with 8 runs each. The girls followed this up by beating Ansty in a friendly match. Ansty batted first and scored 240 for 8 (3 wickets for Katie Read, 2 for Lily Freeman, 1 for Hannah Johanson and 1 for Louise McLaren, a run out for Lucy McNiven and a catch for Issy Cooper) before we replied with 258 for 5 (Katie Read top scoring with 10).

The U11 Girls (pictured above) finished as runners up in the Lady Taverners tournament organised by the Sussex Cricket Foundation and held in St John’s Park with wins against Ansty, St James’ and Bells Yew Green. Skipper Millie Gwynn led the way, hitting boundaries in all 5 games, backed up by Laura Cooper, Sophie Plimmer and Paige Gwynn who all hit sixes and Grace Phillips, Millie Wickwar, Poppy Husbands and Molly Hepburn who all contributed fours! Molly was our leading wicket taker with 4 wickets and 2 run outs, Laura, Millie W (including one fab caught and bowled), Millie Gwynn (who also claimed 2 run outs), Paige Gwynn (caught by sister Millie) and Sophie (a great catch behind the stumps by Poppy) all chipped in to grab wickets too! The fielding was excellent throughout and the support that the girls showed each other was fantastic!
