Burgess Hill u11s 259 beat Rottingdean u11s 244 by 15 runs
Scorecard

A remarkable win for an under-strength and 9 men Burgess Hill, going to a good side and getting a hard earned win.

Rottingdean batted first after captain Lewis McIntyre won the toss, and once again the Burgess Hill boys bowled and fielded expertly, taking 11 wickets including 4 run outs – Toby Spooner and Louis Harcourt producing stand-out direct hits from the field. Toby then also took 2-3 from his 2 overs, and Glenn MacDougall 3-20, and there were a wicket each also for Benji Turner and Jack MacDonald. A brilliant lively performance restricted Rottingdean to just 244 net.

In the reply, we weren’t as fluent as last week, and really only Lewis McIntyre got going, scoring 14 unbeaten runs. Ollie Baker and Glenn scored 9 each from the bat, but crucially we lost only 6 wickets and this ensured we comfortably got over the line with 259 net from our overs.

Thanks to Robbie MacDonald for standing in Steve’s absence, and also credit to Lewis for some positive and vocal captaincy and great team spirit again.
