ALL ROUND TEAM EFFORT SEES OFF SEAFORD
Seaford 146 all out Burgess Hill 2s 148-6

Burgess Hill 2s returned from their trip to the seaside at Seaford with a full 30 points in a comprehensive 6 wicket win. An excellent all round team effort, saw Hill ease to a win inside 31 overs but the win was set up by the bowlers, who bowled superbly as a unit throughout.
Aided by the wind both Bobby Barnes, 3-31 off 9 overs and Dan Rapson 4-27 off 8.3 overs, bowled with great pace and aggression, as only Ben Brown 28 and John Smith 41 not out, had any answers. At the other end, Tom McCreadie 1-24 off 6 overs, bowled arguably his best spell of the season, perhaps trying to impress his girlfriend Izzy Deamer behind the stumps! In her first senior game, Izzy did superbly, only letting through 10 byes and making some excellent stops from the pace of Bobby and Rappo. No doubt her hands were stinging at the end of the innings but she impressed everyone in the Hill team with her keeping and enthusiasm.
Dan Woods, making a rare appearance bowled a contolled 9 over spell, 1-34 and Akeem Ifill chipped in with 1-19 from 6 overs. 4 excellent catches were taken by Kirk Proto at cover, a diving Steve Cromb at gully and pouches in the slips by stand in skipper Paul Elphick and Akeem, as Hill excelled in the field.

In their chase, Hill lost Curly early for 1 but an 86 run partnership between Steve 22 and Akeem, took the game away from the hosts. Akeem was his usual brutal self scoring 69, with 9 4s and 2 6s against his former teammates in another fine display of hitting. Hill wouldn’t be Hill without their customary wobble in a run chase, as Kirk Proto 12, Martin Woods 1 and Tom McCreadie all fell in quick succession and it was left to Dan Woods 8 not out and Elph 5 not out to see Hill over the line.

An excellent all round team effort with everyone contributing.
