Ansty 2nds blew away the top of the Burgess Hill innings to win comfortably on Saturday by 118 runs.
Ansty won the toss batted first on a good wicket and quick outfield. A dropped early catch help set Ansty on their way as the opening partnership scored 91. This proved to be the foundation as they finished their innings on 221-8. We gave a very spirited performance with the ball without much luck and everyone gave 100% in the field. Certainly a gettable target but with a few players moved up to the firsts and others missing it was an inexperienced batting line up. We set ourselves up for a solid start but subsequently lost 5 wickets for 7 runs. 2 years ago we bowled Ansty out for 38 so we had to get past that. Luckily Macca came in at number 8 when we were 20-6 and bludgeoned a fine 29 with some great shots. Dan Austin 10 & Bobby Barnes 16 showed some resistance but we were all out for 103 after 30 overs with Dan Maskell carrying his bat for 31 not out.
We picked up 8 points and on a positive front still top the league.
